HIGRA is a finalist in an important international award

HIGRA is a finalist in two categories at the Pump Industry Awards 2025, one of the most prestigious awards of the pump industry. It recognizes and celebrates outstanding achievements within the market.
We are competing in the following categories:
🔹 Product of the Year: EDAM (Modular Amphibious Drainage Station)
🔹 Rising Star: Ismael Schröer, Mechanical Engineer and Technical Coordinator specializing in CFD Simulation
Also, our partner BAKER HUGHES is competing in the PROJECT OF THE YEAR category with: Water Injection Systems for Efficient FPSO Operations.

EDAM – Product of the Year
Short term for Modular Amphibious Drainage Station or Estação de Drenagem Anfíbia Modular, the EDAM is an innovative solution designed to tackle extreme flooding events. It was developed during the 2024 floods in Southern Brazil. This technology replaces traditional Pump Stations, which often fail during major floods.
It is innovative because it integrates amphibious pump technology, which allows the system to operate both submerged and in dry conditions, providing flexibility in flood prone areas. This new technology includes the use of wet motors within the pump, enabling it to continue operating even when fully submerged, a significant improvement over traditional pumps with dry motors that fail under high water levels. This system eliminates the need for waterproofing and lubricants such as oil, reducing the risk of failure during critical flooding events.

The EDAM solution excels in flood management with key applications in urban drainage, providing a reliable solution where conventional pumps fail. One of its primary advantages is its amphibious pump technology, which operates submerged or dry, unlike traditional dry motor pumps that stop working when submerged. The amphibious design features a wet motor, enabling operation under water, reducing the need for sealing and lubricants, which are common points of failure in competing systems.
As mentioned before, the system was developed in response to the severe flooding in Brazil, demonstrating the urgent need for more reliable infrastructure.
Released in June 2024, the solutions were designed by Eng. Leonardo Roggën, Diego Daros, Eng. Gustavo Pohren and our Rising Star Eng. Ismael Schröer.
