HIGRA and CERILUZ partnership
The partnership between HIGRA and the CERILUZ group, responsible for yet another electricity generation project in the municipality of Augusto Pestana/RS, will implement the first stage with 6 UCHAs – Compact Amphibious Hydrogeneration Plants, equipment with HIGRA technology, development, production and patent, 💡💦
On the partnership, Silvino Geremia, Chairman of the Board of HIGRA, says: “We are very proud to be part of the technological development of this great clean energy generation company. These projects will ensure the promising future of both companies, guaranteeing efficient energy generation with the least possible impact on the environment.”

“The Ceriluz Group is preparing to start another power generation project in the municipality of Augusto Pestana. This is the Ponte Nova Hydroelectric Generating Station (CGH), to be built in the town that gives it its name. With a capacity of 1.3 Megawatts (MW) and an estimated investment of R$14 million, this will be the second plant of this size in the municipality. The first is the 1.4 MW Augusto Pestana CGH, in the community of Arroio Bonito, which has already been completed and should start operating as soon as the water conditions allow the lake to be filled.
Ceriluz Geração received the Unified Preliminary and Installation License for CGH Ponte Nova – number 026/2023 – on February 10, issued by the State Environmental Protection Foundation – FEPAM. The plant will be installed on the Conceição riverbed and will have a dam with a 60-meter spillway and a height of 7.7 meters, as well as a 440-meter open channel.
Construction is scheduled to start in May of this year and be completed in 2023, so it will be a fast-track project. In addition to its small CGH characteristics, it has another innovation that should speed up its operation even more. The CGH will use submerged turbogenerator technology or a Compact Amphibious Hydrogeneration Plant (UCHA). This is an integrated piece of equipment, including an electric generator and turbine, suitable for generating electricity in streams with a low volume of water and a small drop. The equipment will be supplied by the company Higra Industrial, from São Leopoldo/RS. The partnership was signed on July 12, 2022, by the presidents, Iloir de Pauli, of Ceriluz Geração, and Silvino Geremia, of Higra, who signed a cooperation agreement that provides for the installation of 14 submerged turbogenerators in different projects of the Cooperative, totaling 2.8 MW installed. Of these, six turbogenerators will be used at CGH Ponte Nova, with a unit power of 0.21 MW each. One of the distinguishing features of this generation model is that there is no need to install an engine room, which reduces the cost of a plant’s civil works.
This CGH Ponte Nova project joins CGH Augusto Pestana and others that are yet to come with the aim of lowering members’ energy tariffs by inserting them into the Cooperative’s distribution system in the form of Distributed Generation (DG).”
HIGRA is innovation, technology, partnership and sustainability.💦💙
